an ida’s kitchen thanksgiving
this year, we wanted to do a little something different.
My grandmother Ida Grace Watkins Fox, known to everyone affectionately as “Mossie” (or maybe not, as the story goes, her younger sisters argued about who got to “be the Mossie now” when she left for college), was a phenomenal cook and Mississippi belle.
She tucked her cigs in her brassiere strap and fed her chihuahua table scraps from a styrofoam meat tray. I’ve always wanted to create a holiday menu that reminds me of dinners gathered around her mahogany table, Pledge’d till it shone, where even the youngest kids were aware something special was happening. Back then there was “good” china and “real” silver, kept closely guarded in a velvet-lined box to eliminate tarnishing.
From à la carte options to an all-inclusive prix fixe menu for $50/pp, we’ve got something for every budget and palate. Let us do the heavy lifting so you have more time to play!
Enjoy this slightly Southern take on a venerable menu - I’m excited to offer my family recipes for your family to enjoy this Thanksgiving.
XOXO, Whitney
